i have CSVI VirtueMart Version:   3.8.1

and i am trying to find a way to change the posting rate from kgs to £ striling does anyone know how ?

That version does not work with VirtueMart 2

sorry i dont know what you meen i have joomla 1.5.25 runing with that version of virtuemart and all works fine just want to find a answer for that ?

CSVI VirtueMart Version:   3.8.1  does not work with VirtueMart 2 - you need CSVI 4.0 (currently at beta 5), but that will not run on J1.5, only on J1.7+

Or is your question not about using CSVI at all?
