List products in specific order on homepage

I'm stuck on how to list parent products on the virtuemart homepage, I tried using Top Ten and Featured, but neither gives me the control I need - setting the products in a specific order while only displaying the product parents.

I've looked everywhere as many people must want this option but I can't seem to find anything related.  Thanks so much for your help!
