I'm planning on building my cart up using PhPmyAdmin and exporting/importing CSV files. I have me head around this and am able to resolve simple tables such as Manufacturers.

I have hit a snag with the Products table, due to use of punctuation in the descriptions and markup I would like advice on the best keystrokes for the export.

My version of PhpmyAdmin currently has the following defaults.

Fields terminated by - ;
Fields enclosed by - "
Fields escaped by - \
Lines terminated by - AUTO
Replace NULL by - NULL

Any advice will be welcome.

Why not use CSVI 4 - it is already working in beta on J1.7 with VM2.

PHP 5.3, my host is using 5.2.6 for now.

Until they update, I am at a loss.

5.3 is recommended for Joomla 1.7 and I believe will be required for 2.5. So the host is holding you back....

You can use a pipe "|". Most csv files do not have "|" in text areas or in other areas, so there should not be a conflict.
