Hi Guys, Thanks so much for this powerful and great extension. By the way I'm having this problem. The installation and everything work fine but after testing the site, I realized that the add to cart only works in firefox and not in other browsers like safari, chrome. I've tried other ways like disabling the jquery etc but still to no avail. I am using joomla 1.7 and the the latest version of virtuemart (2.0). Please if there is any help out there I will greatly appreciate. Thx

kwaku you are loading two versions of jQuery. That is the most likely cause of the problem. See http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/General_JS-Problems_with_templates_and_jQuery

Three things,
1. Thanks Jenkinhill for your help.

2.  I've tried the second solution by editing the virtuemart.cfg file and changed google_jquery=1 to google_jquery=0 but I can't seem to locate or find and empty the  database  table _virtuemart_adminmenuentries.  I'm using FileZila. Please if you can guide me on how to go about it I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks again

3.  I've also tried to disable the jQuery in vm. When disabled the quantity controls is no longer active when clicked on. And when user clicks on the add to cart button it takes the user to cart with no items in the cart.

kwaku you empty database tables using phpMyAdmin. And you do need one version of jQuery running to enable add to cart etc in VirtueMart.

Another cause of possible conflict in your site may be the menu system - you are loading a large amout of JavaScript.

Thanks once again you've been very helpful. I managed to locate and empty the datatable _virtuemart_adminmenuentries. Awaiting to see what happens after refreshing. Will let you know how it goes.

Also you mentioned that another cause of conflict could be the menu system due to large amount of JavaScript. If that's the case, what will be the solution for that kind of issue. I want to know should in case the the first solution doesn't work.

Thanks

jenkinhill

You could try with a different menu module.

Hi jenkinhill, thanks for your quick response and help. After emptying the datatable _virtuemart_adminmenuentries, the site is gone off line with this message, "Infinite loop detected in JError." I cant access the backend as it also comes with the same message error. Pls I really need some help now!

Hi is phpMyAdmin the only way to empty the database tables?

I managed to  change google_jquery=1 to google_jquery=0, but installing  phpMyAdmin seems a bridge to far for me.

Please help
