Folks
  we using jm 1.7 and vm 2.0 and were wondering how do we show categories on the home page. We need to show them just before is their a module in vm 2.0 that we can use or sql code to show categories

Make the main menu link to VirueMart Category Layout as the default homepage in Joomla's Menu Manager.
