I have downloaded the New Virtuemart version 2.0 but do not like it as much as the older version, which I am used to.  My questions is, will the older version VM 1.1.9 work with Joomla 1.7.  I have had a lot of problems with the product thumb nail images.  Can't seem to get them uploaded.  If the VM 1.1.9 will not work work with Joomla 1.7 I may just build a new site using Joomla 1.5.23 so I can use the VM 1.1.9.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my question.

VM1.1.9 will not work on Joomla 1.6/7 and there is no reason why you cannot use Joomla 1.5.23 - except that once it goes past official "end of life" in 3-4 months there may be issues with the store site passing PCI scanning in some countries. Nobody yet knows what the security companies will do about this. My view is that people will continue to use J1.5 sites for a long time yet.

Thanks for the quick reply. After looking over the new Virtumart 2, I am not sure I like it as much as the older version. Product thumb nail  images are difficult to add and if you wanted to add additional choices to a product such as case lots quantity to a product, it is not real clear on how or if you can. :-\

I am still a fan of VirtueMart but 2.0  seems to lack a lot of things that the older versions had.

Thanks

PRO

you dont add additional images with the product list "media" icon anymore

Go into product, and "images" tab.

Click the radio button "upload" at the bottom.

Find the file, and then click "apply" at the top.

Do not click "save", or you will be back to the product list after save.

For each additional do the same thing.

When you have multiple pictures uploaded. At the top of the images tab, you can drag and drop them into teh order you want.
