VirtueMart Scalability?

Hi all,

I am studying VirtueMart to know if it will work for our project.

I like VM but I am not sure about if it will work for our project an e-commerce processes 500-2k in orders per a day.?

I saw someone posted that VM could process 2.5k-4k in orders per a day, so I think there would be many customization in the the code and MySQL.

Should I use VM?
