VM 2.0 RC3 F and J1.7.3 - Empty Breadcrumb

When creating a menu link that links to the Top Level Category (menu item type is VirtueMart Categories Layout) and this link is visited, an empty breadcrumb (an empty span element) appears at the end of the Breadcrumbs module.
