Using New PayPal API with VM 1.1.3

We have a 1.1.3 with Joomla 1.5.22 setup... Virtuemart files have been modified too much that we have no choice to upgrade but to leave it as it is.

The Normal paypal does gets the payment done and everything else but doesn't redirect the users back to the site so we want to use the new paypal API.

is it possible just to upload the class files and then it will start working??? or we have to include it at other places as well?? any help tips would be really appreciated.
