Multiple warehouses?

Right now I have a custom webstore, but lacking the time to program my desired changes to it. VM has some really interesting features, but I'm wondering whether it is capable of dealing with 2 warehouses?

We have 2 warehouses. It depends on the country which warehouse will get the order. They both have their own shipping rates and payment options. Is something like this possible in VM?

I have searched the forum, found some similar topics, but no answers... Thank you very much!

Similar topics for VM2? If so, it is much better to post in exisitng threads. Otherwise you lose the aspect of community helping each other.

Anyone? I found this interesting article: [link removed - this is not about VM2]
I don't have the money to have this done by professionals, but does anyone know which modules may be doing the trick?
thanks... I really like Virtuemart, but don't want to hack half of the files

thanks for linking to that topic. However, I am aware of the multi-vendor possibilities, but it's not a solution. As far as I understand each product can have 1 vendor assigned to it... but all the products are shipped by both warehouses. It just depends on the country of the customer which warehouse ships it. Normally MV-solutions are about adding 1 product per vendor, not sharing the same product between vendors.

We have some products in store (which can be sent out on next day delivery) and other products in a warehouse (with longer delivery times). Many products can be found in both store and warehouse.

I am looking for a way to get VM to tell the customer if the item is available in store and to reduce the store stock if there is any, and only when store stock is 0 to go to/use warehouse stock.

Any ideas anyone?
