Hi,

Since I seem not able to post directly under the article, an attempt here.
It's been 3 weeks ago, the message on http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/409-virtuemart-final-ready-to-take-off was posted. So the 1 - 2 weeks mentioned have passed away silently.
Please update the status?

Many people are waiting for the next version to be marked ready and stable enough for bussiness use?

Cheers,

MikeUK

I can't answer your question, but I think it's worth pointing out the community aspect of this.

You mentioned about waiting  for this for business use. That's fine, but remember the developers are volunteers, and this is a community project. Have you helped out testing and bug fixing? The more people that do this, and the better it is done, the quicker the stable release. This is down to the community as much as the VM team.

If a system is business-critical, then that is time to do something about it yourself. Possibilities are:  paying a developer to make sure you have a stable setup, help out with VM2 development if you have the resources, sponsor the project, get involved in bug fixing. It's never a good idea to expect community projects to solve business problems on a time-scale (however short / long that may be).

I appreciate this may sound harsh, I don't intend it to, it is just the reality of such projects. Even when VM2 is realised as final, it will be the community that ensures it is / becomes the best system possible.
