'Recommend to a Friend' button makes you log in
« on: November 01, 2011, 16:18:45 PM »
J1.7.2 and VM2 subrelease K

On the product flypage, the Recommend button (to email a friend a link to the product) makes you log in.   This does not happen in VM1.  Sorry if this is not a bug... if this expected behavior, how do I disable it?

But I would suspect the desired behavior would be to be able to Recommend to A Friend without having to register or log in.

In order to reduce the spamming use of the recommend facility it makes sense to me if people have to be logged in to use it. Maybe it needs a switch.   (  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=72804.0  )

Thank you for the link to the security issue, I hadn't thought of that.

But even if you have to login, can't a spammer just quickly create a fake account and login and begin spamming?
