export from 1, import in 2?

Hi,

Current site running on Joomla 1.5 and  VM 1.1.4 . New VM will be running on renewed site in Joomla 1.7
Wil it be possible to export stuff from the old Database and VM 1.1.4 and to import it to The VM2 site?
