I'm trying to use a URL for my images so I can store them outside the Joomla install, rather than having individual files uploaded to the VM directory.  However they don't seem to be working.  I'm using this convention:
http://www.mysite.com/images/product.jpg
http://www.mysite.com/images/product_tn.jpg

No images are displayed.  Did I do something wrong, or is this a bug?

Milbo

The urls for images are disabled atm. But do you know the media synchroniser?

Been experimenting, but I wish to keep my images outside the VM directory and I just cannot seem to get it right.  I seem to be having trouble writing the correct path to the config file.  Not sure if it should be using (http://...) or absolute paths (home2/public_html/store...) for the purposes of this function.

lol, they are NOT in the vmart directory anyway.

THEY are now native joomla/stories/virtuemart

AND, you can change the directory to fit your needs.

AND: image url is "relative" to the directory set in config. BUT as of right now ONLY within your joomla site

Yeah, sorry - I wasn't clear on that, but you confirmed my point that I want the images to be outside my Joomla install for a number of reasons.  The prior version of VM allowed images to be called via http, which is what I'd like to see again, if possible.  Many of us use external images hosted for us off-site.

Thanks!

PRO

as max said. They are not going to work external right now. Eventually it will.

You just need to remove the security, preventing that vendors go outside.
