With lots of effort and adjustments I finally had Joomla 1.7 and Virtuemart 1.9.8 RC2H running but virtuemart only worked with the samples installed. Everything worked on the linelab template.
So I thought to replace some things step by step. I uploaded my own logo in stead of the Washupito's and wham...after reloading it gave a 403 error. For 2 days now I have a 403 error which I'm not able to correct. I even uninstalled joomla and virtuemart... all permissions are open and i cannot come up with anything else. Does anybody have a suggestion?
I'm on several forums. My website is http://www.tomkinwear.com. I have to move forward and already decided to go the safe way; joomla 1.5 and the stable virtuemart version. but I still cannot access my server.... help..

Hello.
I have the same problem. Joomla 1.7.3, Virtuemart 2.0.0...
Where do you are working on the develop of the site? in your local environment or some hosting?
Could you fix the problem?

shunsho

well....i fix it....

I edit the htaccess.txt and add the following lines:

########## Attempt to solve 'Global Configuration' save issue, FTP layer issue, Media Upload issue
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
########## End - Attempt to solve 'Global Configuration' save issue, FTP layer issue, Media Upload issue

then I rename the htaccess.txt to .htaccess

It works...I don't know why but works perfect...

Maybe somebody can explain that...

Milbo

I think this gives an explanation
http://help.joyent.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=85

and googling around it seems normal that you have to disable it for joomla.
Should I fix your bug, please support the VirtueMart project and become a member
