Rebuilding/resizing thumbs...continuing story...!
« on: September 20, 2011, 22:56:39 pm »
Dear all,

I have turned the net upside down to find a understandable and working answer to this rather common but difficult problem, but I still need your knowledge, so please help me with this..:

I have installed a new template for my website. My old (current) website uses thumbs of 100x100 px, the new site 200x250 (w x h). Offcourse I do not want to blow up my 100x100 thumbs as it will look very ugly  :o , so the thumbs need to be replaced...

HOW?????????  For now, I'm uploading new pictures one by one and autogenerate a thumb of 200x250 px...but you cannot tell me that is the way it should be done...right?? Do I really have to alter 1000 images one by one...??

Thanks for thinking!

well what you do is you make sure you have akeebah backup to backup the site before you ever try anything.

THEN,
 delete images in resized folder.
com_virtuemart/shop_image/products/resized

make sure you have dynamic thumbnails turned on in vmart administrator
THEN, log into phpmyadmin.
YOU run this sql query. JUST CHANGE the "jos" to whatever table prefix your joomla is using.
 update jos_vm_product set product_thumb_image = product_full_image
