Clothing store - How do I add sizes and colours?

Hi I've searched through this forum and found a few answers to this but couldn't figure out how to make them work.  I'm doing a clothing store and for example if I sell a shirt I want the option of them being able to pick a size and colour.
I figured out how to have one drop down list but not 2.
