email confirmation utf8 German März
« on: April 13, 2011, 21:28:18 pm »
Hello,

have a problem with the confirmation email.
It is a multipart/related  text/html mail charset = "UTF-8".

In both parts are some Umlauts correct and some double UTF-8 encoded.
Example 1: März is displayed as März source: "März"
Example 2: "Gebühren = + €0,00" correct and wrong in on line.

The mail is generated in ps_checkout.php.
The $VM_LANG->_() statements are working fine,
'order_date' => $VM_LANG->convert( vmFormatDate($db->f("cdate"), $VM_LANG->_('DATE_FORMAT_LC') )), not.

Has someone a hint what went wrong?

Kind regards,

Daniel Schürmann

Not sure exactly what you need. But is the DATE_FORMAT_LC correct?

Hi Joseph,

I found a solution here:
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=68201.msg225560#msg225560
http://www.naan.de/an/ing-buero-spachmueller/web-faq/117-sprachdateien-fuer-virtuemart

The problem is that the German language of my Joomla! is in UTF-8 and the German language of VirtueMart is ISO-8859-1.
The Date is taken from the UTF-8 Joomla! language and treated as ISO-8859-1.

So changing german virtuemart language to UTF-8 will help.

Kind regards,
