Just read your News on the frontpage. Now I'm confused! ;D

"The roadmap for the next year (2012?)] is to complete virtuemart 2..."

"The next beta (now just vm2beta2 in future versioning system it would have been vm1.9.3) will contain joomla 1.6 compability. The next beta (the one after vm2beta2?) will contain a coupon system..."

"The deadline for the RC is end of march." (2011 or 2012?)

Would you mind to upload a nightly build of VM2.0Beta once it works on Joomla 1.6 to give us an opportunity to test a few things?

call me old fashion, but i like name stages like alpha and  beta corresponding the joomla version it works under, ex...

1.5.xxx-nightly.yyyy.mm.dd
1.5.xxx-aphla
1.5.xxx-stable

or 1.6.xxx-stable  .... so vm20beta wouldbe, 1.6.200-beta

sounds much user friendly.

I agree,

Calling it 1.6 in line with Joomla would have been a much better choice.

In regards to the coupon component, should that really be integrated into vmart?

Why not just build a solid core as is the plan and have have everything else as a plugin?

Will the user system be fully integrated into Joomla's registration system as would be the best practice?

Can products be articles and product categories just be Joomla categories?

So many questions and so much excitement!!!!!

No exactly that makes it harder, we have already experience with this system. People constantly post under vm1.5 and not vm1.1.5 because they run it with j1.5.

and it is no problem to mix the system.
For exampel 1.9 Beta. 2.0 Final

This is already the philosophy since months and announced already.

Same above already, done.

A lot of your questions are already answered in the news or the vm1.5 threads.

I thinking changing the new VM to 2.0 is an excellent idea and eliminates a lot of confusion.  However, you kind of mucked that up by stated it "IN FUTURE VERSIONING SYSTEM IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VM1.9.3".  Who cares what it would have been?  Leave the future versioning system for the future where it belongs!

Sorry just becoming toooooo excited ;)

I did look over the 1.5 announcements but lost the plot just thinking about what could happen and the fantastic integration.

I still think that 1.6 , beta, alpha, final would have been better :)
