VM 1.1.x to 1.2 (for 2.5) - change log/docs?
« on: November 23, 2012, 13:21:21 pm »
Hi, is there any documentation on what needs to be changed to run 1.1.x on J!2.5?

My 1.1.x install has been extensively modified - I can't even remember everything I've done to it - so i'd like to manually modify my existing install and avoid any problems.

I will migrate to V2 when J!3.5 is released.

Waiting for J3.5? Still 2 years before that as the Joomla release cycle has been changed - https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/joomla-dev-cms/vZi4gAGiSxY

We have no list of changes, although there will be one somewhere in Joomla docs. Maybe you should try VM1.2 - it is not an official release (I have never tried it) and is not supported here, but has the 1.1.9 files all updated to work with J2.5 so maybe you can compare the full fileset with yours.  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102139.0

think i might just write a script to compare 1.1.9 to 1.2 and see what's what.

Ok, just put a quick script together to compare the files in a fresh 1.1.9 and 1.2 archive. For anyone else interested, output is here: http://pastehtml.com/view/cjntc744f.html

Couple of points to note: domit stuff is new, the "site" folder is the "frontend_files" archive in the 1.1.9 installer (renamed to match 1.2 for comparison sake), the rest is pretty much name changes or file mods.
