Help with VM Template System
« on: July 06, 2010, 02:55:42 am »
VM 1.1.14 Joomla 1.5.18

I need to create a category browsing page where the name of the the category name($browsepage_lbl) does not appear.  This is only needed for some pages, thus the templating attempt.

I created a category form:  browse_chd.php  and then modified a copy of the browse_header_category.tpl.php so that the the name was browse_chd_header_category.tpl.php.

I removed the line which outputs the category title, so I thought, but it still appears.  I obviously must be doing something wrong.  Does VM's templating work this waY?  If not, how do I achieve this desired out come, again, I only need this for some categories.

Thank you for your assistance

Save a copy of the current browse_header_category.tpl.php, then make your changes directly to that file.

The reason your approach didn't work is that the file name "browse_header_category.tpl.php" is hardcoded into
     administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html/shop.browse.php
That is, it doesn't dynamically create a header file name based on the browse page template.
