Problems with modules and virtuemart
« on: March 06, 2010, 18:51:19 pm »
Hi,

I have this problem, Everytime I put a module on the right position in Home and JUST in home, it repeats is in virtuemart.. I need virtuemart to use the article and right position space (it arranges itself automaticly) but if you go to contact or home or every other place where there's a module on the right position it repeats it in virtuemart and the arrangement or allignment finishes into a mess.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Everything!

Really, VM needs a Joomla link! Think about it:

How are you assigning modules to show up on a certain page? Well, you assign those modules to a MENU ITEM.

And then what is Joomla using in that menu item to determine what modules to show? Joomla uses the menu ITEMID.

So I you have not assigned Virtuemart to a menu ITEMID through the Joomla menu system, then there is no way to control those Joomla modules for VM pages.

Answer: Create a Joomla menu item for Virtuemart. Meun -> Select a menu -> New menu item -> Select Virtuemart -> Give it a name and alias (Store or Shop)-> Save.

Clear your cache.

Now you can control your modules to show on VM pages or not by selecting that (or de-selecting) that menu item for VM.
