Change language on Order Confirmation Email
« on: February 20, 2010, 12:51:54 pm »
I've been looking but can't figure out where to change the language to the order confirmation email that a customer gets after purchasing a product. The email currently indicates:

"Thank you very much for your interest in our software. Your order has been confirmed."

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much

I did not realize that Virtuemart was for "software" only.

Deadly Dave:

Thanks for steering me in the right direction. I found this post over at MSC to solve my issue:

Re: Change Email Confirmation

Hi,

Thanks for your question. Yes, please do the following:

1. Login your ftp, download and open this file: JOOMLAROOT/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/ps_order.php

2. Search the line "function notify_customer", it is around line 458. This is the start of the email functions.

3. When you scroll down to line 492 (or search "OSE Email Template"), you will see all text for the email, where the variable "$message" stores the templates. Please add a comment in front of the $message variable if you would like to delete the specific line.

4. Further, if you would like to add more messages, please do the following:

    $message = "Your messages here \n";

This will help you add more custom messages. Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Helix

I am having the opposite problem. My clients customer get his message in German (good), my clients gets his confirmation in English. He does not speak english.

Which file do I edit for this?
