Is Paypal Standard capable of accepting VM shipping cost?

Sorry for the noob question.  I've tried searching have not found a definite answer.  I plan on using VM to calculate shipping costs for each item in my store.  Is Paypal Standard capable of accepting VM shipping cost or do I have to update to Paypal Pro in order to do this?  TIA
