Couldn't resolve host 'https:'

I am trying to setup authorize.net. Have the API login and transaction code, and no errors coming from that.

I have the address that authorize.net says is correct for connecting:
https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

But I keep getting this error:
Error: Couldn't resolve host 'https:'
Error: The transaction could not be completed.
Error: Failure in Processing the Payment (ps_authorize)

Chatting with authorize.net didn't get me anywhere, because they say I am not connecting to them, and the errors are on the VM side. I have checked the settings numerous times, followed the guides here and in the virtuemart book for authorize.net setup, and searched the forum. Nothing.

Any ideas?

This might sound dumb, but in the VM Administration goto Configuration. There is a tab labeled "Security," Select it and look at the SECUREURL label. Does it say "https://....."

If not change it to the addy of your ssl and try again.

If you've already solved it can you let us know how you did it?
