seeing code instead of button

Hello,
i am follwing the installation of paypal using soerens new instruction in this forum.
I only see the code he has created for the extra instead of the button to click and go to paypal.
I changed the template - but the same.
Any idea what is going wrong?
Trying several carts for my shop but this one i like very much and this is the only problem i have - all other is working very fine.
In the order list i see this:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getOrderStatus() on a non-object in .../Joomla/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html/order.order_list.php on line 133
