Product Title and Supplier

I see a product's title is limited to around 36 character. How can I extend this to, say, 100 characters long?

On a product's info page, on the backend, I want to be able to add in who my supplier is for that product for searches etc and new order. How can I add that in?
Don't want to use the Manufacturer box for it because that's reserved for bands.

Question 1: This is limited in the database.
1. Go to phpmyadmin or your database program
2. Go to the jos_vm_product table and go to structure
3. Edit product_name
4. Change length/values in whatever you want

Q2:
1. Go to product types and add a product type
2. Click parameters
3. Create parameter supplier
4. Go back to the product add the product type to that product
5. Edit the extra fields that are now in the edit product screen

Thanks for the info. I found this (http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=52438.0) as well WRT to the titles names, but I am still very unclear on how to do this.
This is my first site and basically my first anything with pHp, CSS etc etc.
