Customizing Simple Orders Report
« Reply #3 on: October 20, 2009, 21:56:26 pm »
Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has customized the output for VM Simple Orders Report, such as: combining the two fields for First name and Last name; formatting phone numbers to be like: (xxx) xxx-xxx.

Hi dyung2,

I suggest you contact intermind's support and ask them for this small customization.
I used their services once and were happy with the results.
They don't charge much for customizations work.
Take care.

Thanks inbar! I was hoping I will be able to do this on my own, but since I couldn't find much articles on this type of customization and plus I don't have any experience with php, I think I will ask intermind support.

Simple Orders Reports - Phone Number Format
« Reply #6 on: November 02, 2009, 16:14:12 pm »
Hello,

I'm trying to modify some codes in the VirtueMart Simple Order Report and was wondering how will I go about changing the "Billing Phone 1" to this kind of format: (###) ###-####, so that it will be outputted into a CSV file.

I've tried putting this code into virtuemartOrdersReport.php and it doesn't appear to be working, any reason why?

Code:
function format_phone($phone_1)
{
   $phone = preg_replace("/[^0-9]/", "", $phone_1);

   if(strlen($phone_1) == 7)
      return preg_replace("/([0-9]{3})([0-9]{4})/", "$1-$2", $phone_1);
   elseif(strlen($phone_1) == 10)
      return preg_replace("/([0-9]{3})([0-9]{3})([0-9]{4})/", "($1) $2-$3", $phone_1);
   else
      return $phone_1;
}
