Admin => Add Phone, eMail and Mail Orders As A Customer
« on: April 05, 2009, 21:24:13 pm »
I hope I am not violating any forum rules by posting this. I am new the this forum.

I've created a hack that will let a Joomla site admin Add Phone, email and Mail Orders As Customer. It works with joomla 1.0.15 and 1.5.x series and the VirtueMart 1.1.2 and 1.1.3.

I made it available on
http://www.joomlacache.com/commercial-extensions/virtuemart-add-orders.html

and you can see screenshots
http://www.joomlacache.com/demosite/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=70

I have used it on several live sites and shared it with several other VM users and it works fine.

If you use it, as with all extensions, test it on a dev site first. :)

So, what this does is makes it so that when you get an order in the mail or on the phone, you can place the order for the customer, just like you would using a commercial system like mail order manager (MOM). You can enter coupons and create multiple customer shipping addresses. You can use PayPalPro if you have a PPP account, or you can use standard paypal.

And because all of your orders can now be placed on your site, you can do a file import to quickbooks or whatever accounting software you use. I used it with simpleport.

Once you create your customers account for them, it will even send them their user account information so they can log on to the site and view their accounts orders.

I don't really understand your pricing. What is the subscription period? Does the code lock once the period is over? Any update on when you might code it to work without legacy code on?

The process looks great... just don't understand the pricing.

Thanks.

No it does not lock, why would i do that, you own it and con do what you want with it forever and ever

the priceing covers customer support for the term of the subscription. As all extension makers experience, an extension cannot be made that work in every environment or with every template, plus joomla has users that range form absolutely no skill sets to the very experienced. so we offer a support subscription to cover the cost of helping everyone with the extension that need it. You also get unlimited downloads and updates during the term of the subscription. So the subscription covers the cost of help, updating and further development.

but just to repeat myself, the extensions ARE NOT leaseware and they never expire, you can use them forever, just the customer support and access to updates expires.

Vic--did you go to the joomlacache web site? It is listed on the front page of the site.

Take care, Mike
