Changing default shopper group breaks category view - bug

I've been scratching my head all day about this.

To replicate the bug, go to shopper > add shopper group > name it and set it to default.

Your category browse page will now not show products.

Set the default shopper group back to -default- and site works again.

This is not a template specific bug, because it can be replicated using the default VM theme.

Any ideas?

i also have this prob.

but here, my default shopper group is already a custom one and when changing back to -default- i get the same error.

andy ideas on how to fix this?

P.S. I also noticed that when logging in with a user account that belongs to my custom default shopper group, the products are displayed then.

If user is not in default shopper group, won't see products

i forgot to mention, that when switching back to "-default-" shopper group i also made this the standard/default group. still no luck...
