What worked for me was overwriting all the files in the /components/com_virtuemart/js/ directory (except for mootools) with the files from the VM 1.1.2 Manual Installation.

I'm not sure which of them was the issue, but it worked for me... so far.

None of the fixes worked except for _stu's here. And issue was also present in IE6. Thanks _stu

Microsoft says upgrade to IE 8 It does not have the problem "Operation Aborted" but here is a link that talks about it and a fix for web designers wanting to support IE 7 and fix the problem

75% of my customers use IE 7 and take a look at what some of them will see in the picture below, during Checkout.
My fix was tongue in cheek

Hiya, i am still having the problem with IE7pro. Backend works fine, but the frontend still goes on with the error. I changed the files, reset cache, disabled add-ons and so on. I hope you can help me.

Yeah it finally works ! If you have the problem with frontend try this http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=51089.msg167802#msg167802

Sorry i get that back. It still goes with the same error.

Please try the newly (02/26/2009) attached file to the first post, hopefully the last try at solving the IE issue.

I found it out. The default Java-tree is causing the problem. I turned it off and it looks like it works now.

Thanks a lot for this hotfix, but no effect in my shops (VM 1.1.3 + J1.5.9, IE7.0.6). All files installed like you wrote, IE7 cache cleaned, nothing ...

Any other ideas?

I will go crazy!!!
