Thumbnails missing
« on: December 14, 2008, 23:25:57 pm »
Hi there.
Trying to set up a store and got a real problem that I can't get round...
Tried everything, but must be missing something obvious!
Have a look here:
http://pp-tuning.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1&Itemid=1

Basically, the thumbnails are not showing at all.
Should be a list of products and thumbnails showing mini-pics next to items, but can't get them to display.
Any pointers gratefully accepted.
Thanks

Have you tried a different browse page?

Hi, what do you mean by a different browse page?

Hi, bit of a bump.
Can't get this sorted and it's driving me mad! The "link" to the .jpg is in the category/product list, but the image doesn't appear!
Anybody willing to help would be suitably rewarded...
Thanks. Grant

Let´s hope some one has a tip about this one.

Your browse page is located in your category settings (click on your category to configure).

Ah yes, I see what you mean.
Yep, tried all the different browse pages and they all show no thumbnails.

I've checked your site and there appears to be a problem with the js loading for vm on your site. This may not be related but it points at something not being correct!

This is the error

Quote
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Internal Server Error</h1>
<p>The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.</p>
<p>Please contact the server administrator,
webmaster@pp-tuning.gb-ent.com and inform them of the time the error occurred,
and anything you might have done that may have
caused the error.</p>
<p>More information about this error may be available
in the server error log.</p>
<p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>
<hr>
<address>Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8b mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at www.pp-tuning.com Port 80</address>
</body></html>

So check your error logs, to find out what the problem is. This may be unrelated, but something is not working correctly.

Also check the permissions of your vm shop_images directory. From memory it needs to be 755

Hi there,

I have the same problem over here. Without changing anything, my site ( www.brocantehuys.nl ) stopped showing the thumbnails and some more strange stuff like not displaying full images in lightbox anymore.

It's driving me insane too! I hope anyone can help... Many thanks in advance..

This linr from your site gives a good idea

Contact your hosting company. That sounds like a server issue

Grant620's problems have now been sorted.

As I first thought, it was a permission problem on the server.

Please double check your error logs, you may find some entries saying directory.... is writeable by group. You'll find the directory has permission of 777 it should be 755.

Sort out these problems and you should find that your images appear.
