Customers cannot register

SOLVED:

Suddenly I remembered that I somewhere had chosen (I don't even remember where I can find this setting) that an email-adress can only be used once. 

During testing, I was trying to use an already existing email-adress.

It would be fine to get a message like "this email-adress is already in use" ...  Now ... nothing happens when you use an already existing email-adress.

I followed the configuration-instructions:

"Joomla!: Gebruikersregistratie toestaan?     Ja  [Update] 
Joomla!: Nieuwe gebruikersactivatie nodig?    Nee [Update]"

But new users cannot register in my shop:

After submitting the form, nothing happens.

Can sombebody tell me what I have to change please?

Are you using the Joomla login or the VM login module?

Is there any way to display an "Error" msg when e-mail is already registered???

I would really like that..
