Best SEO way to create a products drop down menu?
« on: September 25, 2008, 04:02:07 am »
Hi folks,

I searched around and found this question a couple of times unanswered. Any one have advice on how to create a second menu with product categories, without creating duplicate content...i.e., a new itemID?

Please see the screen shot. I have the VM category menu published, but also have a horizontal menu at the top with all product categories as a drop down menu from "products". Right now, I have manually added each of the categories to the Joomla main menu, as a sub menu. It works fine, but it creates a new Item ID unfortunately.

Any way to make it work this way as an alias to the VM module page instead? I suppose I could use an SEO extension and map them manually, but I can't teach my client to do that.

Thanks!

I've got the same issue - Trying to have top menu be "Home | Products(using VM Categories) | Contact

anyone successfully do this without manually having to?
