Help! SSL Certificate warning since upgrading.
« on: September 09, 2008, 20:38:37 pm »
Hello all,

I'm slowly upgrading a clients site in little baby steps. So far I am up to Joomla 1.0.15 and VM 1.0.15. Since I upgraded I am getting the SSL error that the certificate is good "www.mydomain.com" but this is going to "mydomain.com". I can't remember exactly what the error is as I can't get it to do it again as for some reason doesn't appear in my certificate list so I can't delete it and recreate the error. In any case, customers are complaining. In IE7 they are getting the warning

"Problem with this sites security certificate"

So, I have a dedicated certificate and just checked and it's still valid, so some setting got messed up somewhere. Anyone know where? I need to fix this ASAP. The error occurs when the customer starts the checkout process, i.e. when the http switches over to https. Thanks!

PS Can I install the latest version of VM while still on Joomla 1.x? If so, will my various customizations to shipping and payment modules still work, in other words, is it a huge problem to upgrade?

OK, looking through the threads I think I found the fix. I changed the following in virtuemart.cfg.php:

define( 'SECUREURL', 'https://mydomain.com/backend/' );

to

define( 'SECUREURL', 'https://www.mydomain.com/backend/' );

Hopefully that will solve the problem.
