Maybe many users here don't know what is Alipay.

Alipay is the most popular online payment gateway in China. Its Chinese name is "支付宝".

At present, Alipay is not embeded inside VirtueMart. This is very bad. Since thousands of Joomla! users in China want to build their small online shop with VM, but they have to give up this idea when they know that VM does not support Alipay by default.

Another very popular online payment in China is China UnionPay. I think if VM has built-in support for these two kind of payment gateway, then VM will be spreading widely in China.

Don't forget that China has the most largest internet users group in the world.

So, I strongly request VM team to add intrinsic support for one of the TOP 3 popular online payment in China, they are:

1. Alipay  (http://www.alipay.com)

2. China UnionPay (http://www.chinaunionpay.com/)

3. 99bill (http://www.99bill.com/)

Thanks in advance.

More Info about ALipay at http://market.alipay.com/ospay/index.htm

Alipay is the first and almost only choice of payment system in China.About more than 10 million payments were dealed with ALipay everyday.

As you konw, paypal failed in China market and only takes about less than 8% of the payment market as well as Alipay takes more than 90%.For the more, Paypal in china is not the one in the U.S.A and other countries and could not do payment to other Paypal account besides china.

So without Alipay, we could not use VM because of lacking of a useful payment gateway. That's why VM is not so popular in China. Please help us solove this problem.

A example of ALipay gateway written in PHP:http://union.alipay.com/alipay/dev_download/shiwu/phpshiwu.rar

Hope it can make sense, thank you for your attention.

As an open-source ecommerce solution, it would not work and by no means be popular in China if it did not have any local payment gateway built-ins. Or VM might have different thinking and want to treat this as a business to get profit...hope not so

I love Joomla. It makes creating websites so much easier. But since I want to create an eCommerce website target to Chinese young peopele, I really need an Alipay payment plug-in. I have been searching google and baidu but no solution.
