Theme images not shown
« on: May 04, 2008, 23:23:15 pm »
I have no images from default theme shown on pages. Images are normally under IMAGES folder as default with all permissions. Yet no button or anything else is displayed. Theme.css shows proper path to images.

What influences on these images not being shown?

TIA

The images for the theme are in /components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/images/

The only requirement for display is that they have read permissions - ie are 444 at least, usually 644, and are under the same ownersip as the rest of the site.

I even set permissions to 777 but no luck. If I call an image file directly like http://www.mysite.com/components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/images/up_small.gif the browser shows the image...

This solved my issue when I could not get the images to display.  I did not make the change in my php.ini file that enable GD2.

Be sure the the semi-colon is removed from the line:

extension=php_gd2.dll

Then, when you go to images, you will see a new option about resizing.

Hope this helps

I'm running this on Apache and gd lib is already in the bundle. Phpinfo shows it works fine. :(

Found a problem. Many times there's a note that Joomla live site must be entered as: http://www.mysite.com/

However, if I remove the last slash (/), theme images show up correctly.

Which is the right form now? With or without trailing slash?

Live site for Joomla 1.0.15 does not have a trailing slash ($mosConfig_live_site) There is no equivalent in Joomla 1.5's configuration.php so this may be set in VirtueMart configuration as Site url - and this does require a trailing slash.
