For the love of all that is holy, I have been with VM since Joomla 1.05 days and I've used Virtuemart 1.0 and 1.1 and now ive deployed 2.0 but the #1 major thing that you guys are completely missing is the ability to add custom product attributes for products!

This hack has been around for years and abandoned picked up abandoned picked up but the fact that this thread (as of my writing) has over 70 pages and the origional 1.0 hack has over 31 pages of posts should be an indication of its popularity. 

there is only one person maintaining it right now but he cannot edit the main page with the download sources, and he tried to host his continuance of the project on his own website just to make it simple but has gotten flack from Forum Moderators.  I have used this hack for years and I would love to see it included in the core of Virtuemart, I really don't see why this or something like this hasn't been put in yet!

Please give the man who is maintianing the hack to the power to maintain it by allowing him to either:

a) edit the 1st post so he can update the download links
b) allow him to host it on his site if A) is no good
c) put the hack in the roadmap for VM 2.x

I have migrated to Joomla 1.7 and i can't use 1.1.9 VM on there but 2.0 isn't where it needs to be yet and of course without this hack I have no use for 2.0VM  this hack is critical for the way I do business and many others.

I know is a community project and I am greatful for all the years of VM.  Now my attempt to give back to the community is to petition for this feature or at a minimum give the man who is maintianing it the tools to actually maintain it properly and post it in a manner that makes it easily accessible for others to actually extend the hack and perhaps get it into the core of VM.  As it stands now you have to read over 100 pages of threads to know whats going on.
