Media Image Add Thumbnail Option doesn't work ?
« on: May 07, 2008, 22:38:20 pm »
Using Joomla 1.0.13 Stable with VirtueMart 1.1.0

Attempting to add additional images and thumbnails to product listings through the Media option.  Results are the same in Explorer and Firefox.

Able to add full size image, no challenge.

Thumbnails do not create, see error message on attached screen shot.

I've read the manual and think that I understand the instructions but can't get it to work.  Advice appreciated.

Not really 100% sure I can help out, but I'll try.

There can probably be one or two things going on here. I notice from your attached pix that the product image itself does not contain any spaces in the file name, whilst the 'additional' images does. Try to fill spaces w underscore. (i.e. my_pic_here.jpg).

And/or check the file permissions. But I suppose since you save the additional image into the default product image directory, that shouldn't be a problem.

No other idea, hope it helps...

And to think that I actually do know better than to leave spaces in my file names! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, while it did not solve the problem, it certainly is a decent step towards eliminating the problem.  File permissions are not the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Well, no other than that the first value in the 'Auto Create Thumbnail' (height) is empty.
It should say '90' or any other value that you've already set in the /Admin/Configuration/Site/Layout - page.

If that value for some reason has disappeared, you need to re-enter it.
