In VM 1.1 stable - if I disable "Show Manufacturer Link? and/or "Show Vendor Link?" in the default theme settings, they are displayed on the product details page despite having set it to "No". Does anybody experience the same problem?

Works for me, disabled both Manufacturer and Vendor link, it doesn't show on product page.
Strange - on my system all the other options on that page show the desired result if I change them, except the Manufacturer and Vendor links.

Also I encounter a similar problem with the flypages. I can change i.e. the ask-flypage.tpl to garden-flypage.tpl but not back.

I'll continue playing with it - perhaps I can find out at least something??

Did you upgrade to VM 1.1 or new install? empty cache too. Are you using SEF.
As far as I remember I did a manual installation over the last RC, but I'm not 100 percent shure about this. Cleared browser and Joomla cache several times and tried it with IE6 browser, too. SEF is off.

Perhaps I should try if overwriting VM 1.1 with the latest nightly build makes any difference.

Best Regards

It could be a bug, my suggestion is to install wampserver and try it locally so not to mess up live/remote site, if you can duplicate it on local install then it's a bug and post steps to reproduce.

install wampserver and try it locally...

Hi again,
All my different (3) Joomla 1.5.3 sites currently are running locally on XAMPP für Windows Version 1.6.6a (just updated to the latest version a few days ago), because I don't want to mess up my non-Joomla live sites, before I'm satisfied with the new system.  :D

Hi,

I just installed a clean Joomla 1.5.3 and the latest VirtueMart_1.1.0_nightly-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15.zip.

After some time of experimenting I finally found something - I can now switch this misbehaviour on and off (reproduce it) on the fresh install.

Disabling The "Show Vendor Link?" and "Show Manufacturer Link?" doesn't work, if the Category Flypage "flypage-ask.tpl" is enabled. If I change it to "flypage.tpl" it works as expected.

That is because 'Manufacturer' link is hard-coded in "flypage-ask.tpl" where as in "flypage.tpl" if statement is used, the next question I guess is why? well this is only a guideline users are welcome to modify pages to their own needs.

Thanks for the info - sometimes it's nice to know what the programmer wanted to do with the supplied options, if you can't find a description in plain language. ;D

Anyway - I suppose one of the next things I have to learn is how to adjust the flypages myself.
