No Add To Cart button in feature products
« on: April 24, 2008, 20:53:22 pm »
I am using VM 1.1 with Joomla 1.5.2

I have a problem in Special Offer product on shop home page.
Instead of having Add_to_cart button, i have Notify me text.

I think this line  " <?php echo $featured['form_addtocart'] " in file featuredProducts.tpl.php has to be change but i dont know what to change.
When I remove form_addtocart from the line, the notify_me link is not shown any more.

The strange thing is that when i click on Notify me, it add product to cart ...

Tha add to cart button is normally shown when i click on a product.

I have just seen that the problem is in stock checking.
When i remove

if( CHECK_STOCK == '1' && !$product_in_stock ) {
   $button_lbl = $VM_LANG->_('VM_CART_NOTIFY');
   $button_cls = 'notify_button';
}

in addtocart_form.tpl.php, add to cart button is shown normally.

I think "product_in_stock" parameter is not correctly updated. Somebody can check this ?

Do you have product in stock, if not than instead of 'Add to cart' 'Notify Me' button is show.

I am also experiencing this bug on a site I am currently developing - pretty annoying as it appears to be out of stock when in fact it is not.  Didn't even realise this was a new feature, looks nice if it does actually work - what is it supposed to do, email them when it's back in stock?  As it seems to try to add the product to the cart?

Yes, it even adds a tab to the product with the list of customer who have requested to be notified.

Hi All!

Is there any resolution to this? I have the same issue: Notify Me button in the featured products when there is products in stock.  When I click on it, it puts the product in the cart.

Thanks for your help!

Good Morning!

I know everyone is busy and I will try to do this as tactfully as I can.  Is this issue resolved?  I wish I had the skills to do it myself but unfortunately I do not.  However, I really do appreciate  everyone's hard work.  If I could just get an answer, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks again!

People:

How many times does a person have to ask a question on this forum to get an answer?  I have read all of the stories on the net about how unresponsive the developers of this software are.  Now I have seen it first hand.  This is the second time I have asked a question on this forum and only to be ignored.

EVEN AFTER THIS RANT, I BET I STILL WILL NOT HAVE MY QUESTION ANSWERED.

Oh well..... at least I will feel better, but still won't have my question answered!!!!

How many time do we have to request to search before posting, I don't know what you have read about the support but after working 12-hours a day 6 days a week, I still find time and try to answer few questions, few might not be enough but that is all the time I have, users miss the point, support is community driven, I answer a question once and repeat myself one more time after that it is up to the user to do a search, for instead this issue has been confirmed and it is in tracker to be fixed.

Sir:

As I said in the above email I do appreciate everyone's hard work.  However, I have read issues on several forums, including the Joomla extention review, that answers to questions come extremely slow if at all.  And by the way, I have done the search and read the most of the 1.1 manual and could not find the answer to this. The bug tracker talks about it but it says that it is solved.  I again download the nightly build and install and it is still an issue.

Anyway this is great software.  I want to use it for my store and apologize if I seemed ungreatful.

Regards,

Rich Halsey
