Is there a way to customize each category page ?

I have a website that offers store for bands, each band is a category and each category has several different products.
What I am looking to do is create each category page so it has a different look or so at least each category page has a different background color.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
I already uploaded a template so the online store looks different than the actual website.
Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

Add code to your template file to load a different css according to the category_id pass in.

Create  new flypage template for each category and then in your category backend simply choose the relevant category template - hope this makes sense.
