I did some testing.
Only found a problem when using add to cart in ajax mode.
File upload gives errors.
Have to wait JK's respons on that.
Further it looks ok to me.

The conversion to VM 1.1 of the hack is paid for.
Because of the existing problems in the orignal hack the costs went up a little bit more.
But JK did not charge all the extra time he had to spend because of those problems.
So anyone who likes the conversion and wants to donate, I suggest donate to Joseph.
He has a donate link in his signature.

wow, you guys move fast. lol.. I must say I am very encouraged from our "micro community" within this thread.

I copy/pasted your specs from here and sent them to the DEV my company works with. He is never coded for VM before so he anticipates this taking him at least the rest of this week before he can have something. He said that what we are asking for is not extremely difficult or anything. He also said that HE will fix the price refresh hurdle in the core hack ...

Also.. I cant make any promises, and I am not sure if this is also something that you guys care about, but I am trying to get my boss to flip the bill to pay Roland ( the Dev behind CSV improved) to make it optional to insert these custom database fields withing the excel upload sheets. So you can have user defined variables declared in each cell column .. Eg.. $product author, $hard drive size, ect..  My hopes are to have those two mods closely integrated to give us some unparalleled flexibility than before.

That being said.. I will keep you updated, I am real busy at work and its hard to stay in communications with a dev in India, because of time zones.. (im USA)

I invited him to join in this forum discussion when he has the time, so you guys can talk directly to him.. His name is knapur btw.

In the mean time, I just want to say thank you to Marco, and Bob . Your positive attitudes, and productive thinking turned my disenchantment of VM into  an appreciation for the thing that really makes this a great project.. (the people)

P.S I will be checking back during the day for your new attributed hack upload. I would be happy to beta test it with ya..

"the price refresh hurdle" as you call it, is allready removed in this VM 1.1 version.

Could be a couple off hours before I have any respons from JK.
When a solution is found for the file upload with  the cart in ajax mode I will release it here.
File upload works when ajax is turned off.

Hi guys (bobthebob01 + Sublimetime)

Joseph worked out a nice attribute system.
I could send you some details by pm if you are interrested.
Don't know at what stage you are with your developer Sublimetime, but JK's idea may also be nice solution. And he knows his way in VM joomla.

It has my favour at this moment. ;D

Hi guys,

unfortunately, as i said before, i'll be off line for at least 7 days. i'll be on vacation which i have been waiting for long now. So as off tomorrow, i won't be able to reply or even check this thread. i'll definitely get in touch as soon as i come back.

Marco: you can still send me the detail by PM if you want but be aware that i won't answer you right away.

cheers

Yep, I think so.
That hack is all you need right now.
You can allways make a donation to JK.

This one is over....
