Instructions and examples of CSV files in the archive.

Short description

The module is designed to export and import data from a store Virtue Mart

(I think that this program is not a competitor com_csv_improved but only a complement

for specific tasks)

The program consists of two sub-Export and Import

The archive module is an example file export.csv To read the file I used export.csv

OpenOffice.

at the same time asking as the separator character ^, but as the text delimiter symbol ~, encoding

Cyrillic (UTF8) is also in the archive module is an example file import.csv

delimiter symbol ^, but as the text delimiter symbol ~, Cyrillic (Windows-1251)

(To save in OpenOffice with the following parameters need to select Save As, and when installed

checkmark CHANGE filter settings and retained in the parameters of the separator character ^

text delimiter symbol ~, Cyrillic (Windows-1251))

In order to export and import data into a csv file to

1. Install the module from the archive mod_hellofrom.zip. The installation of a new module

Export Import.

2. Configure the module (position: left, Access: A special module to be run when entering a

administrator password.)

3. The result of the program Export to a file located export.csv

in the root folder of joomla. (This file can be downloaded via FTP client or a link module)

4. The result of the program will append to the Import VM product from a file located import.csv

in the root folder of joomla. (This file must be downloaded using FTP client or the module itself)

(If, before the import was not created categories for the goods, they will create automatically.

If the goods are already in the database, then re-entered it will not)

5. Pictures of goods for which are referenced in the CSV file must be written using an FTP client

in the directory \ components \ com_virtuemart \ shop_image \ product   (for VM 1.9)
in the directory \images\stories\virtuemart\product  (for VM2)

The data structure has a fixed

1 An article of goods
2 Name of product
3 price
4 Currency
5 Name Category
6 Short Description
7 full product description
8 small image of the goods
9 big picture of the goods
10 products available
11 Product ID
12 category ID
13 parent category

These are all the columns are filled in the file import.csv (one line for each item)

Important!

If you need only create a category, not a commodity, the category also takes one line

in file import.csv which states only the category name and identifiers in this category, and its

parent category. An example of such a file I placed in the archive module import_cat.csv (but this is only an example,

all the same input file should be named import.csv)

Limit on the number of products uploaded to its objectives have not yet discovered

(If the server has a limit on the size of the files I upload and download their FTP client)
