best shipping plug in
« on: December 04, 2022, 18:56:32 pm »
Hi, I have been using the shipping plugin from parkbeachsystems but started experiencing some issues recently, and now I realized that they are not ending their services for Virtumart. I could not find any recent forum topic on this regard, basically I am trying to find out a good plugin to replace the old one. We mainly operate in the US, but sometimes worldwide. Basically I need a good working and reliable plug in to calculate the shipping from UPS or USPS depending upon the order weight, size etc..  Thank you for your helps in advance

But for now is working good on J3 and didn't test jet on J4

on website they say  Plugin development ceased, but I have feeling someone update sometimes something.
There in no problem if you fall. Problem is if you don't get up

We use this

on website they say  Plugin development ceased, but I have feeling someone update sometimes something.

We use this on several J3 VM shops and it's working great. Reinhold Kainhofer has indeed stopped further development but in return has GPL'd all pro/advanced plugins for free. So as suggested go for the pro/advanced version, it has a lot more option.

The plugin takes some time to understand - make sure you check out the examples in the docs! Configuration is some kind of scripting language and for very complex scenarios you might need to set temporary variables.
Please understand that it does not work on individual products in the cart but on - for example - cart totals per category. Caused some issues here for an addmittedly unusal complex shipping situation.

Does anyone know if this Advanced Shipping by Rules works in J4, VM4 and PHP8?

I have tested with PHP7, J3 and VM4 and it seems to work ok
