Subcategories are showed multiple times...

Hi,
I'm using Joomla 3.10.10 and Virtuemart 3.2.14
on the site https://mindfulgifts.be
(Dutch site)

In Configuration > Templates > Shopfront Settings

I have selected "show category description" AND "Show Children Category"

But  when I now visit a virtuemart category page, I have the subcategories showing multiple times...
I just want to have each subcategory showing one time (of course)

I don't find any info and it will probably be me setting it up wrong...
Maybe it has to do with this:
Because a parent categorie was not showing products of his children, i now added an article to the subcategory AND it's parent...
(for example,  a candle is part of "lights and candles" but also it's parent "living")

I would very appreciate any help who can solve this...
