Parent Custom Field disappears!

Hi Dear,

I have a problem with one product (say, product A).

Product A has children, and is orderable.

When I go to custom fields in product A, and select option "Disable inheriting" (so that children don't have the same config for custom fields), the same custom field disappear.

This happen (at this moment) only with that product A. I've created other product in the very same manner, and doesn't have this problem. The only difference is number of children (max 9 in other product for which options work well; 13 for product A).

Any suggestion about that?

The problem is that in children I have also custom field (the same) but with different option. In particular, I'm talking about Shipment for Virtual Product plugin form iStraxx for selling digital products. In the parent I have some download, in the child others.

In another product this works well. Dunno why it happen only for this product.

Ok, but You can override this in the child if You want.

Maybe I was not clear in previous post: custom field disappears from the parent. As they was never be set.

I asked this to know if it was a problem with my installation or was an issues encountered by someone else.

You Said that you changed this in parent product a. Yes you were unclear.

Anyway...

The question is: did anyone have the same? Is it a bug in VirtueMart or is it a problem with my installation?

A. A product with child products is saved without problems.

B. Another product with child products, on the other hand, deletes the newly created custom field when saved.

VirtueMart version is 3.8.8
Joomla! version is 3.9.24

Please reread your first post. You are only talking about changing settings in the parent product. No ironi, you are unclear. That is why I told you to change settings in Child product, since you told me you only did it for parent.

The problem I report was a cache problem. 

Anyway, in regards to parent / child products, I create a structure like this:

- Parent product: Generic child variant in custom fields (not an option, and not orderable)
- Child products: orderable
