thinking about switching from shopify
« on: September 20, 2020, 01:34:10 am »
Hey guys, as a non technical person, i literally dont know much about computers or the internet just the bare minimum (how to log in and stuff) and i would like to know if it is possible to migrate a website from Shopify to virtuemart.  Would it be a complex process for a 'newbie' and someone who does not have a huge budget?

Can someone recomened some good videos or somebody that can do it for me

my url is: https://cream-chargers.uk

Export products from shopify as XML feed for Google Merchant Centre
Import Products, Categories, Customfields, Manufacturers from XML with this: https://www.minijoomla.org/extensions/virtuemart-extensions/import-produktu-pro-virtuemart
www.minijoomla.org  - new portal for Joomla!, Virtuemart and other extensions
XML Easy Feeder - feeds from products, orders and database table
Virtuemart Email Manager - customs email templates

If you don't have basic knowledge of Joomla, and PHP then I don't recommend.
VMart is excellent component but is not for people without any basic knowledge. Do some localhost Joomla, VirteMart experiments, get familiar with environments then give it a try.

When trouble came is it mostly, do it yourself and basic PHP is useful to know.
There in no problem if you fall. Problem is if you don't get up
