I think is better read send all info about your problem and definitelly send url your website.

Have u enabled any "Available Search Fields" in VM config?

When do you want to write that instead of Search (com-search), you use Smart Search (com-finder)?
Or is it a test to find out for ourselves?

Which plugins for smart search you are use?

when under build/dev leave SEF off .. it is one of the last things that is enabled and tested
