eCommerce website and Custom choices

Hi All,
I will start work on designing new website using joomla and virtuemart , this website is an eCommerce for buying dates online.

They need some features I don't know how should I implement it by using a virtuemart for Joomla.

2nd feature is how to add the cost of shipment according to the weight of package.

Any body have an idea ??
